Art and Sand: My Inspiration
As you know,
I don't know a thing about flowers.
My front porch is in the afternoon sun
and I come home to wilted flowers every day.
But I'm determined to create
a front porch that is bright.
I just love the ideas from Art and Sand.
She uses red, yellow and blue in
most of her vignettes.
So I tried some new things today.
The flowers in the large pot with the burlap "H" flag
were red, white and blue.
Don't look too closely.
I free-handed the "H".
I figured, "Who could see it from the road."
They were beyond recognition.
I put in the larger pot with more dirt.
They revived a little.
I spray painted the wrought iron patio chair
that I found by the side of the road.
The bottom has rusted out some,
but it's great for holding a plant.
This is the look from Fall.
This was the Spring look.
The patio chair and lantern just blended in.
Will find some pillows and may paint the bench.
Thanks Art and Sand for the inspiration.

Such a bright and cheerful entrance. You are so talented at grouping things together.
ReplyDeleteI love it! It really stands out now, I'd never think to add some of those things. Mildred is right - you are really talented, and don't tell me you're not. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the yellow chair!! Oh, and the rest of it too!
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow chair - makes the porch pop. Looks good and I think the H is great.

ReplyDeleteI love it Bonnie!!! Very pretty. We bought some Vica's yesterday from Walmart that were 50 cents, almost dead. We transplanted them and they seem to be revived. ANYWAYS--thanks for the smiles. Blessings
ReplyDeleteMy porch gets late afternoon sun---vincas have done the best--and I have tried MANY various annuals!
ReplyDeleteI think the new, colourful look as inspired by Art and Sand, is just beautiful!

ReplyDeleteBonnie, your front porch is going to provide lots of pleasure. Love the bright colors. Have fun selecting some pillows. I like to switch out seasonal pillows on our sunporch and around the house.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following along at Hyacinths for the Soul.
Welcome!
I love the vignette you have created on your porch and of course I love all the color.
ReplyDeleteI like that you did the H free hand. We can buy perfect things, but it is much more fun to see pieces lovingly made.
Make it a great day!

I like it when people salvage what other people don't want. Great job with the chair:)
ReplyDeleteGreat presentation to the entrance of your lovely home, Bonnie! Both fall and spring/summer pics are great!
ReplyDeleteHey, that's GOOD! Really! Love the use of colors and the freehand art work. I much prefer hand crafted items to store bought. I would so love to sit there and enjoy a glass of ice tea with y'all. It's so nice and "homey". Good going there gal.
