I hear the rumblings of rain.
Oh, how we need it.
I miss my children on Sunday nights
more than any other time in the week.
So I blog and find connection.
It's here that I find the community
that I so long for.
I found this great book at Goodwill in Nashville.
Thumbing through the pages, I thought of Francine
at Primitive Stars.
The book is full of Primitives.
I love ironstone and primitives and white lace and promise
so I flipped to my favorite pages.
Yesterday I found this pretty ironstone platter
in one of the shops. Two platters for $4.
I love the scalloped edges.
I recently added a stack of saucers to my collection
of ironstone. I will go back and pick up
the stack of plates if they are still there this weekend.
When the kids were little, mama always grilled hamburgers
after church on Sunday nights.
When my parents became "little", I made
breakfast on Sunday nights.
Feeling a bit melancholy tonight.
Blessings for a great week,
Bonnie:)
I love the book and the ironstone piece you found.
ReplyDeleteThat ironstone and the book are perfect for your collection.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better today.
Great finds! I get blue at times, missing my children so I understand.
ReplyDeleteI could write a book about community and the quest to find it after you are alone--not an easy chore and not fair to look to our children for the answers. TOUGH ONE!
ReplyDeleteThis is a sweet and poignant post and one that many of us, for one reason or another, can relate to. I think that paging through an inspiring book and looking at beautiful things can bring about a tiny shift - sometimes just enough to pick me up as much as I need in that moment.
ReplyDeleteI only have a couple of ironstone pieces but my mom always had a bunch of it. I would love to get my hands on it, whatever became of it. Hope you are having a good today, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteFirst...I'm thrilled that a Community such as this brought us together =)
ReplyDeleteLove finding awesome stuff at thrift shops. That and outlet stores are my favorite places to shop....and shopping is something I LOVE to do!
Love how you love your family. It's hard when they don't live close. Memories are treasures =)
Bless you today, Bonnie!
The iron stone pieces you found are pretty. Love the book too. Have a wonderful start to the new week ahead.

Great finds!! Loveeee this post. Thanks for the smiles..
ReplyDeleteYou're good at finding new doo-dads. We'll have to go "antiguing" some day. I enjoy collecting realistic bird statues for the shelves.
ReplyDeleteHope you're week runs smoothly. ~:)
I have that book too. Love the ironstone.

Your ironstone collection is lovely and makes a nice display. I hope that you got the plats. xx
ReplyDeleteThat should of course read plates, not plats!! xx
ReplyDeleteThis ironstone is really IN with many of the bloggers right now. It's so classic and pretty. What a great magazine to read. I need a good magazine to browse through. Autumn will be here soon; maybe I'll get a good one then.
ReplyDeletelove,
