It's Labor Day.
I'm laboring.
No, not in labor.
Thank God!
Mr. H wouldn't call this labor.
He'd definitely call this junkin'.
This weekend a stranger came to our door.
We didn't answer the knock- knocks!
My husband said the man must have
mistaken our residence
for the junkyard of Sanford and Sons.
I'm cleaning it all up today.
My room is being transformed.
Yes, it's the orange and aqua one that I started.
I say "being" transformed
because it has been a process-
not an overnight project.
Callie Ann has found a new home.
And so has my pitcher and bowl
which has been hidden away in a cabinet.
The wonderful thing about white treasures
is that you can move them from room to room
and they always fit
AND TRANSFORM.
A Pinterest idea that I completed today.
Believe it or not,
it's taken me a while
to transform this simple project-
weeks of looking for the perfect frame,
days of finding my staple gun
(I need a professional organizer),
and
even longer finding these photos.
Ugh!!!
I've gone back to my first love,
pure white.
Believe me,
it's been a TRANSFORMATION!
Webster's Thesaurus
uses several synonyms
for "transformation,"
Metamorphosis,
Transfiguration,
Adjustments,
Reconstruction,
Reformation,
Displacement???
Well, I can truly say
that my projects have been just that!
Stripping,
Painting,
Cleaning (paintbrushes)
Repainting,
Sanding,
Waxing
and
Buffing.
I see an analogy here,
do you???
The Whole Life is a process.
We are "being transformed,"
into His glory.
There are adjustments.
Change is never easy.
There is the stripping,
and peeling away of the old.
That hurts.
Displacement???
Sure have felt a lot of that lately,
job change, new location,
becoming attached only to pull away,
not knowing where I belong,
wanting to belong and not wanting to belong.
Lessons learned, lessons unlearned
are like the painting,
stripping and repainting-
the transformation only to realize that
there is more transformation.
Am I finished yet???
I don't think so.
Gotta meditate on these
thoughts that have come to me
during this process.
There's still a bed to do,
new linen,
more photos,
and little touch-ups here and there.
So, yes,
transformation is a process.
Sometimes,
the color has to be taken away...
BEFORE!
To be made clean,
NEW!
I hope you'll follow me
on this journey,
Bonnie:)
