Give Thanks

"Give Thanks"
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

We give thanks to You oh Lord
We give thanks

God has given me a heart and desire for Worship.
In the 80's, Don Moen was a trailblazer to usher in praise music in our churches.

Today, I have more than an abundance of thanksgivings.

I will start this season off feeling blessed to have
food on my table, fried fish, hushpuppies, slaw and pickled onions.

No, not really my table.
It was Cock of the Walk's table.

Cold, iced tea out of tin cups.
Makes me remember and be thankful for days at Granny's.
There was always an aluminum ladel for drinking
cold well water.

Thankful for the woman I call "Grandma"
who is really my Mother-in-law.
I don't take for granted the relationship that I have with her.
I've always called her my Mother-in-love
She is lovely, don't you think?

Thankful for a week with these two,
listening to their stories,
laughing and listening to their tales.

  1. I really enjoyed your post!! SO wonderful to have a good mother in LOVE! I have tried to be that to my DIL.....but we are still not very close. I never met Louis Dean's mother - she was gone long before we married. I never met HIS beloved mother in law, Ruby Nell but have heard so much about her! She was Ellen's mother (his first beloved wife who passed away in 2000.) Ruth Ann and Louis Dean both say I remind them so much of her! That's hogh praise indeed!!!
