A Day in the Life of a Substitute

A Day in the Life of a Substitute.
I think I'll write a book.

I love the stories teacher's tell.
They make me smile, make me laugh.

It's so refreshing to see life
through the eyes of a child.

My first day, I was able to work one on one
with a creative little boy who just needed
some extra attention.
He has a creative mind and his writing
is exceptional.
His story about his trip to Mars made me want to visit.

I am enjoying the 1:1 with students.

On the second day, I had the opportunity to work
with a little boy who finds it difficult to stay on task.
With simple instructions and attention,
he was able to complete the assignment.

In the mornings, I have been with the PE class.
Laugh OUT LOUD!
Me, PE???
Anything physical is certainly an education for me!
Every bone and muscle in my body has been one big ache!

Mr. H thinks this is hysterical!
YOU???? PE???
I have him to know, I played backyard baseball
when I was growing up.

Today's story...

 "What's your name?"

"Mrs. Hitchcock."

"You're mean, Mrs. Hitchcock."
(She's a busy, little thing and cute as a button.  Just can't be still.
"Sweet girl, get in line.  Sweet girl, don't touch your neighbor.  Sweet girl, play nice.")

"Really?  I think I'm pretty nice."

 "Write your name down."
(I did.)

"Why do you want it?"

" I'm gonna tell my mama."

"Yes, Sarah, please tell your mom I said hey.
I haven't seen her in awhile."

"You know my mama?"
(It's a small town.)
"How do you know my mama?"

"I worked with your mama."

"You're a nice lady."

END of discussion.

Some photos that I got today...

How about that train track?
Our big boy will start 3 year old school soon.
Is he not the cutest thing?
Who needs a real track when you've got tape?

Our little angel is singing a tune.
I wish I could have figured out how to download the sound.

Our little miracle baby girl is now the size of an avocado.
In the next two weeks, she will experience a real growth spurt
(and so will mommy).
Very soon, my baby girl will be able to feel a little flutter.

My heart is full to overflowing.

Bonnie:)
