Yesterday it felt like Spring.
Today it feels like Summer.
These are the things I enjoy about Summer.
A pretty tablecloth and mama's special plate makes everything yummier. |
eating fresh fruit from the local farmer's market,
enjoying a picnic or barbeque and ice cold watermelon,
picking the best home grown tomatoes in the bunch,
a tomato sandwich with loads of mayo, salt and pepper,
ice cold water on a hot and humid day,
drinking ice cold Coke and RC cola from a bottle,
home made pickles,
and feet in the sand and sea.
These are a few of my favorites Summer things.
What do you like most about Summer?
Bonnie:)
Actually, I don't like our southern summers. Never have and I grew up even further south in Titusville, Florida on the ocean. The only thing I can think of is ice cold A/C, beer and watermelon. That's what I seek out until Fall and I can relax. *giggle* ~:)
ReplyDeleteEvery thing you mentioned sounds very good to me. I truly love when it's not humid and we do not need the AC to live. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteAll of the above! Let's see if I need to add anything...oh, how about AIR CONDITIONING! In the south, we sure need that!I would put that in the catagory of necessities! One more thing...the smell of sun tan lotion...and my mom's homemade ice cream...and old fashioned Popsicle brand popsicles with the double sticks...Ok that was three...I'm sure there are more! :)
ReplyDeleteall the above except the beer...I just saw it...I don't do beer :)
ReplyDeleteI love eating our meals...including breakfast...out on the deck! I also like summer rains...even with a bit of a thunderstorm mixed in occasionally. Those are a few of my favorite summer time things! :)
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like home grown tomatoes, is there? My dad had a garden across the street from our house, and he brought home the best looking vegetables. That watermelon looks so good. I think one of my favorite things about summer is all the fresh fruit. Summer will be here before we know it. Lovely post today, Bonnie.
love,
~Sheri
We share the same favorites:) I am watching my tomatoes, can't hardly wait for a VINE ripe tomato! Enjoy your week dear friend, BIG HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI like your new look!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this post. There's so much to like about summer and I agree with your list. I'll add a cool breeze on a sunny day, the sounds of the birds through an open window, the smell of freshly cut grass...
We share the same favorites. I can't wait to eat ice cold watermelon and a tomato sandwich.
ReplyDeleteI love all your favorites..I know this is a G rated site..but let me say..I do love a cold one/beverage (wink) on a hot day..I never finish it, I get 1/2 way and then toss it..lol
ReplyDeleteAs you know..we up here in NY do not have central ac..we know of no one that has it. Really, it is not needed..we only get maybe 2 weeks of above 90..although it would be nice to have..the last couple of days have been unbearable with the humidity. Blessings
My hubby favorite sandwich is fresh tomato and mayo/salt and pepper. I love it on multigrain bread.
ReplyDeleteYour Spring Things are so delightful and colorful. I'll take a RC Cola.
Hi Bonnie, I did post today --so check out my birdies!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am not a lover of summer AT ALL. But---I do love the fresh fruit and veggies at our local Farmers Market.
I despise air-conditioning (although sometimes it is needed)... We seldom use it here since we are 2000 feet above sea level... We also have lots of fans and great cross-ventilation.
I truly need to live farther north in order to get away from the summer heat. BUT--all in all, I do love having four seasons...
Hugs,
Betsy
I love home grown tomatoes!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the tomatoes and watermelon. I also love native blueberries and I'm dreaming of peaches, too. I'll take a tall glass of lemonade to go with my treats. Happy summer wishes!
ReplyDeleteSummer is my favorite season. Some of my favorites of the season are the smell of freshly cut grass and also Honeysuckle, as well as the scent of Suntan lotion...Fresh, garden grown tomatoes and grilled hamburgers, YUM! Flip-Flops and funky sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteThose are great summer things, Bonnie. My favorite is the sunsets over the Bay. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYes, my friend, you hit summer favorites right on! Feet in the sand is right there at the top for me. Hope I get to a beach this year!!
ReplyDeleteBless you today!
