I went pickin' at Cornerstone.
Cornerstone is the shop that I managed for two years.
The owner left it as-is or was.
We kinda just walked away from it.
Done deal! Out of Business! Just like that!
She's one of my best friends.
We tease her about being a hoarder.
She sold her house a few weeks ago.
She downsized and had major junk treasures
so she had a yard sale.
Believe me, it looked like she sold the yard.
I found a few goodies.
Don't you love the little plates?
Only two, but a pretty add to my collection.
The silverware was NOT silver and NOT stainless
but certainly vintage.
but certainly vintage.
My granny had odd pieces and so did we.
They may have come in bags of flour during
the depression years or from the FIVE and TEN.
Probably not worth the 25 cents that I paid,
but sure are sentimental to me.
Come to think of it, 25 cents for all 25 pieces,
ain't too bad, huh?
Of course, the best find was the pitcher.
I have a similar one, but without the patina.
This is now my favorite piece.
I sell everything but the kitchen sink,
you know that.
My daughter said, "Mama, don't you dare
get rid of the white stuff."
You needn't worry, my sweet.
How many hoarders do we have out there?
Fun! Fun!
Bonnie:)
You aren't from Ohio. There is a store with that name here.
ReplyDeleteAren't we all hoarders in one way or another?! I really do love the silverware, just the thought of how it came to be!

anything white is a object of desire, so no hoarding needed. Unfortunately, I have way more non-white things than I need, so my hand is up to the hoarding question.
ReplyDeleteI love old mix matched silverware and the pitcher is charming! Good finds.
ReplyDeleteI love that pitcher too. I am a funny mix of hoarder and thrower. Sentimental things I hoard, but I've been known to get rid of things I should have saved. :)
ReplyDeleteGuilty, as charged! I love white stuff, blue stuff and a whole lot of other stuff!
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteThese little plates and pitcher are so pretty. I love to go to flea markets and vintage shops and come home with special goodies. Lucky you for getting all this stuff. I'm glad you liked my white pumpkin today. I found it at Hobby Lobby, one of my favorite places to shop.
You have so many cool white treasures, and I'm really into white décor lately too.
love,
~Sheri
No, I'm not a hoarder, I'm a collector. How many times have you heard that? LOL I hoard paper craft items and am really trying to cut back.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a hoarder, I am a collector! (giggling)---my mil is a hoarder! No lie..we prob could put her on that tv show. Blessings
ReplyDeleteYou might call me a borderline hoarder...not nearly to any degree of those folks on TV....{{shudder}}...I do like my STUFF though! You certainly found some great items!
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie...I go on a white dish and silver hunt just about every weekend and for sure where ever I go!
ReplyDeleteI am not a hoarder but a collector...sounds better doesn't it?....lol Seriously, If I do not have a place for it...I don't like to keep it. When it becomes stacked and in the way it is gone! I am trying to limit myself on any purchases. Of course, that white pitcher would be a must...I will give you 25 cents back.....lol Have a great one! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I've been hoarding toilet paper lately. You know, "just in case". Does that count? *lol* Luv ~:)
ReplyDeleteOh, I think we're all hoarders, whether we admit it or not!! Sentimental treasures are the best finds!
ReplyDeleteI admit, I am one:) It's all good stuff though:) Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteAm I supposed to admit this out loud? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI admit to stocking a resource pile, you know, just to keep my options open and supplies handy.
