Little People's Nativity

As I mentioned before, Christmas plays played a big part
in my growing up in the church.

As a little girl, I would recite the story. As Mary,
I "wrapped the baby in swaddling clothes
and laid Him in a manger, because there was no
room for him in the inn."

Of course, my baby doll was Baby Jesus, and
the manger was a cardboard box.
Mary wore a house robe and a towel.

The story is as real today as it was then.

I mentioned in a recent post that I'd like to have
a Little People's Nativity for my babies to play
with when they came to BonBon's.

Much to my surprise, I received a package in the mail.
My thoughts were, "I don't think that's mine.  I haven't ordered anything from Amazon.
I don't know if I have been as gifted by anything as I was this.

I had wanted to get one, but just couldn't justify
the money at this time.

I was like a kid in a candy store.

And so was Harper.

I told her the story.
She was more interested in eating baby Jesus
and playing with in the animals.

When told year after year, she will grow to understand

the reason the animals came
and we will celebrate that an angel one time
long said to a Virgin Mary,
" You shall bear a child and shall call His name Jesus
for He will save His people from their sins."

Thank you, my sweet friend for your gift.
It has truly been a blessing.

Looking forward to sharing the story many days to come.

I'm off now to see my Connor man in his first Christmas play!
May the True Meaning of Christmas be real to you today.

  13. Nativity plays are a wonderful start to Christmas aren't they. I am sure that Harper will enjoy learning about the nativity as she grows older. I was thinking the other day, I know that you have been through so much and in your home move, and now the health concerns for your daughter. I always believe that there is a silver lining in everything, even if we cannot see it or know it at the time of the difficulty that we are going through. Perhaps the silver lining in your move is that you are now there to help your daughter. I know that you would rather not have either situation, but perhaps this means that there will be something positive from it all. xx
