Hidden Treasures 

is the name of the Flea Market 

in which

White Lace and Promises resides. 

I can tell you one thing

treasures are hidden!

I go in there almost every Thursday, 

Friday or Saturday,

and  I always find something I haven't seen before.

For most of us, it's

 the thrill of the hunt that keeps us digging.

Just haven't been able to get out of town 

for a real dig so I've dug around

at "Hidden Treasures."

I found this great tray in a vendor's junk pile booth.

Shhhhh, sometimes mine looks more like a junk pile too!

I love trays.  I buy and I sell. 

They make great displays for a dresser top.

I use the same dried roses in many of my photos.

I move them from vase to vase, 

from room to room.

I love them.

Small vases and creamers have many different uses.

Of course, milkglass hobnail is my favorite.  

They stays mostly in the pink room

unless I am using for showers and events.

The hankie was my granny's.

My daughter carried it around her bouquet.

The tray feels like plastic.

The Mark reads, "Florence, Italy."

The sticker says Florida.

Maybe it was originally made in Italy and the flowers 

were painted or decoupaged in Florida.  

Whatever, I don't care.

I like it. 

Don't look too closely. 

The dresser needs new knobs.  

This is on my to-do list of projects. 

Most vendors won't reveal where they dig.

BTW, this dresser was repainted with oil-based enamel paint, 

what kind of paint will work over oil-based paint???

A Glimpse at a Country Kitchen

Now I call this a country kitchen.

The cabinets look like my granny's did.

She bought the stool from me when I renovated my kitchen.

Pardon the technology.
I guess you have to have a little 21st century in there.
Couldn't hardly make it without the lights, running water,
and AC and certainly couldn't blog without it.

The high chair would be recalled today
but it worked just fine in decades past.

All the walls and floors are heart pine.

Most of the cabinets are filled with vintage kitchenware
from the 30's, 40's and 50's, and they use it all!

 The chandelier 

was spray painted red and the canning jars added.

The lighting was perfect, inside
and out.

The patio lights are made from a string of Christmas lights

and red solo cups.

Glassware from the 70's

Remember the colors of the 70's,
 gold, avocado green and orange?
And ughhhh, appliance in gold, green and brown.

I suppose some of our 70's girls are downsizing
and getting rid of their glassware
because it sure is popping up everywhere.

The gold Fenton pitcher above, I would keep.
The rest I would sell, but
right now I"m not sure you can even give it away.

The two pieces above are carnival glass.
I like the way the light reflects the prisms
within this glassware but still can't stomach the gold.

I don't believe this is the green from the 70's.
I think this is a little older.
I'm not a green glass fan, but I could do
something with this green.

I've been seeing green paired with yellow these days.

I found this great blue that I've never seen before.
One is more turqouise and the other is more aqua.
The aqua pitcher resembles Fenton.

I'm combining some yellow and turquoise in my newest vignette.
I'll share in a day or two.

Any 60's and 70's girls out there who remember these colors?
