I had this vision, as you know.
This is as far as I've gotten.
I'm certainly not done.
I want horizontal and not vertical
because I need it to serve as a headboard.
These were wood slats from an oak floor.
They are heaaaaavy!
I'm thinking I'm gonna repaint and distress the white
and use only the 4 slats.
We'll see.
I got very discouraged because the glue got
evvvvverrrrryyyyywhere.
Ugh! One big mess!
Could only get the four to adhere.
I'm certainly not a woodworker.
Will keep trying.
Any ideas on how to hang this
massive chunk of wood?
Hope your day has been a day of rest.
I sat with my little lady today
and she had a stroke.
Not sure if she's gonna make it.
Makes me sad.
Prayers for this Sweet Family,
Bonnie
I love the idea of a headboard but I'm no help in advising you the best/safest way to do it.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry about your friend. May God bless.
I just sent you and email about a Bon Bon rose!
My room is coming along, but I need more red accents. I finally found a good accent rug. As you know, I snatched that picture from you and am using it as inspiration too. I'd like to put up something similar, but am deciding on a verse.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had an idea about how to hang yours!
Hello Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea you have here, I love it! Maybe you should use a molly hook? Those hold very well when hanging heavy items.
I am trying to post this week and do some visiting. :) I have missed the community out there.
Joy in the Lord! Debbie
My hubby works with wood (use to build furniture and cabinets), he said to run some vertical planks on the back to connect them all together. Looking for a rustic look, go ahead and just screw the head board to the wall. You can fill the holes or leave them empty. Hope that makes sense?
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I am sorry about the lady you are sitting with.
ReplyDeleteYou can go on line and get all the direction you need to make and hang a head board. Honestly. It's good to know a handy man in your area too. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Praying for your friend! I don't have a clue on how to hang that heavy beauty! Hope you get it figured out! Can't wait to see it on the wall:) Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteScrew them into the wall? It's permanent, and better be where you want them. Good luck! Be sure to share pics when completed. ~:)
ReplyDeleteI haven't a clue, Bonnie..Like Sparky, screw it into the wall. Keeping you in prayer, always. Blessings
ReplyDeleteWhat about attaching them to wood strips on the back with short screws, making it a one piece deal. If it is headboard, you could actually make the boards you are attaching them too long enough that it could stand against the wall, and just be reinforced in the wall so it doesn't move. I may have visualized this completely wrong :(
ReplyDeleteYou are getting industrious Bonnie. I am glad someone answered your question. I hope to visit your booth this week. xo, olive
