LIFT Banquet and A Give-Away (Everyone Wins Something): Table #1

Last night was our LIFT Christmas banquet.
It stands for Ladies In Fellowship Together.

I have decided to do a giveaway.

I started to say that I'm in the Christmas spirit,
but really I'm just enjoying the Joy of Jesus.
I have been to Bethlehem.

I'm giving away an ornament
made by one of our ladies.
(I hope she'll make me another, HINT-HINT)

I will feature one or two tables every day for a week.

1.  Be a follower of White Lace and Promises
2. Visit and leave a comment on Facebook
or White Lace and Promises.
(any suggestions or comments are welcomed)

3.  Share my blog with a friend. Let me know you shared.
Your name will be entered twice.
If your friend follows me and comments, she will be entered too.
She must be a new follower.

4.  On the last day, vote for your favorite table.
Everyone who enters, comments, shares or invites a friend
will get a special little (I say little) gift from me
just to say thanks and Merry Christmas,
so be sure to send your address by email.

Our speaker tonight is a close friend of mine.
Oh my goodness, she is so full of Jesus.
HE just oozes out all over her and gets me gooey too.
Do you hear me?

She talked to us about The Table of Jesus.
We are all invited to the table.
At His table, there is more than enough.
As Bob Benson would say,
enough fried chicken for everyone,
and still we hold on to our balony sandwich on stale bread
and say, "No, I'm fine."

Table #1
Blue Christmas

Sparkly, blue bows for napkins holders.

The hostess of this table gave each of her guests a cross.

Hilda asked if we had met Jesus at the cross.
I know my need to go to the cross daily.

The cross...
The place where we find
redemption and restoration.
Some call it the GREAT exchange,
the place where we exchange
our sorrow for joy,
our hurt and resentment for forgiveness,
our pain for peace,
our rejection for His acceptance,
our sin for HIS grace and mercy.

She asked that we meet Jesus at the manger,
the place of worship where we may sing as the angels.
"Glory to God in the Highest and on earth, peace, goodwill to men."

It takes my breath away to understand that He loved me
enough to give up Royalty, and to become a servant,
that I may be adopted into His family.
He is the King and that makes me a princess.

To me Thanksgiving should be every day.
So, I think it's perfectly alright if we put up our trees in November.
Jesus died on a tree.  He is what Christmas is all about anyway.

This is a busy time of year.
Many people have more on their plates than they can digest.

During this season, I pray for you, my dear sister
that you will not let the hustle and bustle make you miss Jesus.

Tonight I noticed as each lady tried to decide where she wanted to sit.
So many pretties, but ladies who didn't feel pretty.
Ladies who came not feeling that they belonged at any table.
I too have felt isolation at times.
We ladies are like that aren't we?

I invite you to just pull up a chair and sit at HIS table.
There's room enough for all and as Bob Benson would say
there's plenty of potato salad, mashed potatoes, and fried chicken.
Just throw the baloney sandwich in the garbage
and let's ask the blessing and EAT.

God's table is full and He always has enough for everyone,
enough grace, enough peace, enough love, enough joy.
He has more than enough.

Join me at the table.

Bonnie:)

Don't forget to enter.  Everyone wins!

I am linking up the Cozy Little House this week

Baby Shower Part II

The baby shower for Harper Elizabeth
was beyond anything I expected.

Before we started,
Christy's grandmother, my MIL
read a poem to her about mothers.

She had found it in a calendar several years ago
and held on to it believing for our miracle.
She wanted her to have it when she became a mommy.

Grandma has 5 children and 3 children by marriage.
She has 12 grandchildren with 9 more by marriage.
She has 17 great grandchildren.
When we all are there together there are 47 of us.

The hostesses were mostly family
and a few good friends.
Left to right:
My nieces, Dawn, Robin, Sharon
Christy, my sister, Beverli,
a close friend Beverly and cousin Dale
and her grandlove, Tanner.
Two other friends helped but weren't in the photograph.

The girls, the little nieces helped too.

Christy saw friends she hadn't seen in awhile.

There was so much good food and fellowship.

I honestly had as much fun as she did.

A couple of times, I found myself pulling out things before she had a chance to.

Chrsity doesn't like being the center of attention.
I told her I didn't mind.

I don't like photos of myself at all!
I tried doing some major photo chopping/cropping/
whatever you call it.
It didn't work.

I cropped some head shots.

I wanted you to see some of my most ridiculous faces.
It's no wonder I have wrinkles.
Ughhh.
Yelp, this did it!
I'm back on track for Weight Watchers after seeing these!

I gave my special order to one of our friends.
She wouldn't let me pay her.
She said, "It's my gift."
We love it!

My niece, Dawn had everyone decorate onsies.
It was fun!
Somebody whispered,
"I hope you like foo-foo."

There were lots of dimonds and divas and buttons and bows,
ribbon and roses and flowers and yes, foo-foo.

This little girl doesn't stand a chance.

I dressed my girl in a different outfit everyday.
My mama said I acted like she was a baby doll.
She WAS my baby doll
and still is!

God has blessed her with a healthy pregnancy.
She hasn't been sick.
Harper's vitals have been perfect as well as hers.
She's had very little swelling and no other problems.

God has given her His favor.
For this we prayed.

BonBon:)

Christmas Trees in Candyland

Putting on the finishing touches.

I forgot I had this in the closet.
It was my mama's.
It was on the TV every Christmas.
When we divided my parent's things,
we could only find the tree top.

I wanted it anyway.
When the sell of the house was final,
imagine my delight when I found the base.

I made a banner!
Strips of cloth cut from a pack of material from HL.
Yarn wrapped around a square piece of cardboard,
tied in the middle, cut at both ends and tied to the twine.

I could have drapped it from end to end
but I liked the fluff.

One more add,

a bow for the wreath.

Something's missing.

the LIGHTS!

I think I'll call this
Christmas trees in Candyland.

Okay, maybe I'll drape the banner.
Too bunchy.

Hope my posts always bring a smile to your face
and chase the gloomies away.

A Wonderful Weekend: A Baby Shower

It was a weekend of wonderfuls...

A wonderfully special time with my girl.

I don't know that I've ever seen my baby girl
more happy or more beautiful.

Sure makes for one happy mama.

Gifts

Bows

Flowers
(The flowers were made of onsies,
footies and bathclothes.)

Ribbons and Lace

Clothes

More Clothes

a few of a girl's favorite things.

The food was pretty and delicious.

It was quite a spread.

We ate...

we drank...

and, we were merry:)

My daughter-in-law had worked so hard
and had to leave.
She got a call that her Papaw,
who had suffered a stroke this week,
had taken a turn for the worse.

Sometimes we laugh together, sometimes we cry.
This day we did both.
Please keep her family in your prayers.

Many friends and family have walked this journey along beside us.

So many were there to cry with us,
pray for us,
and walk beside us.

We prayed and waited with others
as others prayed and waited with us.

No one will ever know the prayers prayed
by the moms of this pretty girl.

I never gave up hope.
Just once?
No, not ever.
A mama hangs on with strong, stubborn faith,
believing in what seems impossible.

My sister was MY support.
She was ever interceding.
At times, I thought my heart would burst into pieces
but I'd call my sister.  I knew she'd take it to the feet of Jesus.

Read their story of infertility here.

God makes beauty from ashes.

A wife lost a husband,
two children lost their dad
and four grandchildren lost a Papa.
Troy lost an uncle,
 his mom lost a brother.

Unexpected,
Questions, yes.
Somethings we will never understand.

A new baby brings joy in the midst of pain.

These girls made music together.
These days they dance to the tune
of little ones.

This baby girl has stolen my heart.

This little man makes me laugh.

Can't wait to see what they think of our newest little angel.

2+1=3

Three times a BonBon!
