Maybe a Little Rant

This is not a rant, I promise!
Well, I guess it may be
a little rant
in a nice way.

I like to read different blogs.

I admit to having a connection with some
more than others.
I think that's only natural.

There are some really great blogs out there
with 1000+ followers and I love to read them.
There are the published one and those who
use their blogs for income and have
oodles of comments to one post.
I certainly don't begrudge that.

That's wonderful!
Although that is not what my blog is about.

Okay, I don't know how to make a long story short
but I'll get to my point.

When I'm reading the blogs that have lots of ads,
it takes forever for the posts to come up.
The little circle thingy goes round and round
and I finally give up and go on to the next blog.

I probably miss some really great ideas because of this.

Is there an answer?

If it's something on my end, please let me know.

If there's not, well
life is just too short, not to BE HAPPY!

And these little one sure make me smile.

So, I'm not gonna spend much energy fretting over it.
Just wondering.
Be happy and tell me what you really think.

Nothing can steal my joy.

  1. Oh my word - is that Harper smiling already? So sweet!
I think there is a problem with blogger lately. I've had a few people telling me that my blog wouldn't come up, but it was fine for me, and others were commenting. Lately it seems to be working a little better, so I wonder if that's connected to the issues you're having as well.
    Hooray for joy!

  2. Hi Bonnie.....
I really try to avoid blogs that have ads....
That is not why I blog....
    I agree with you....
    Love your header!
    Cheers!

  3. I agree, it can be a less than pleasant experience, trying to wade through the ads to actually find the blogger's post. I don't enjoy it but I do understand those who do this out of income need, and I trust they find much success, but, like you, that is not why I blog and I hope I don't have to resort to ads and such, in order to keep on keeping on. I blog, selfishly perhaps, for myself ... my "new" way of journaling, I suppose, since I can't seem to keep a hard journal going past a few months these days.

As to how to make these ad-heavy blogs move along quicker, if you aren't using Chrome as your browser, it really is faster than Internet Explorer. I switched to Chrome a year or so back and am glad I did.

    Those babies ... sweetness.

  5. I hear you, dear Sometimes you just need to let the blog owner know...they usually hate to see this sort of thing happen as they lose followers. Just mention the slowness in your comment. I'm definitely not a BIG blogger and have no advertisements, but I know some of these ladies really rely on it for income.

Oh, you have a cutie here!! :)

  6. I always zoom in on the bit of the blog with the actual post, so I never see what people have in their sidebars - so don't see any ads - and if they are elsewhere, I just avert my gaze. I don't have any problems with posts not coming up, so I am afraid that I don't have any advice about that, but I hope that it sorts itself out as it must be very frustrating for you. I don't mind the ads, I just ignore them! I pretty much ignore all ads as most anything that I want to watch on tv that has ads in, I just record it and then can skip through the ads. I am an advertising agents worst nightmare! xx

  7. I read your blog just to find sweet angels smiling at me. As for ads, I ignore them and have maybe clicked on five in the five years i have been reading blogs. i do not want ads on mine as a personal thing. There has been slow loading times here lately.

  8. Sweet photos of the little ones in your life! I have been considering writing a similar post about those big blogs. I don't mind some ads, but some bloggers have gone ad crazy. One blog that I've always enjoyed has recently 'crossed over'. I quit visiting her. I can't sit around all day for her posts to come up. And her blog used to be so attractive and inspiring. Now it is filled with so many ads that it is difficult to find her words. Ads all over the side, top, and bottom. Ads all through her posts and even on her photos. So she's lost me as a reader, but I'm sure she's gained others because now she's considered a big blogger. There really needs to be a balance. Whoops...forgive me...I think I just did a rant.
    Farmhouse hugs,
    Cindy

  12. I stopped reading many blogs because they've turned into advertisements. Every now and then I wouldn't mind it.. but I read blogs because I find people and they're ideas interesting... not because I want to buy a Chevy or shop at Wayfair. It does slow the loading process.
    Such cuties!!!! : )
    Have a great day.

  17. I can totally understand the ad issue. I had ads on my blog but only in one spot to the right at the top. But some blogs have big sections of ads at the beginning, throughout their posts, and at the end. For me that is too busy, but I know that they're doing that because sometimes the sponsors have requirements as to where the ads have to be placed. Whenever I want to do something different, I always make an announcement on my blog and ask for feedback. That has been helpful because sometimes it looks different on the other end (the viewer's side). I've chosen against added features that would make blogging easier to me because it makes it more difficult for my viewers, and honestly, I want to keep those that read my blog. Hope that helps. :-)

p.s. The babies are just too cute!

  18. I have three ads. One at the top and bottom and one along the side. I did it just to see if it's profitable. I made 10 bucks in a month. It's NOT worth losing followers! I would hope someone would let me know if the ads were bothersome before they would leave me. Maybe I should post the question. My blog loads quickly for me, thats why I didn't think much about it. There are nlogs that take forever to load and sometimes I'll wait, sometimes not. This was a good question! Hmmmm... I love a rant too.

  19. I am right there with you! I am lucky of I get more than 10 comments on a post ,but thats not why I do it. I do it because it forces me to learn something new and share it every day with my readers. I have minimal ads, but I do realize that some people make a living through their blog. Everyone has a different path and you are right not worth wasting energy fretting over it. Have a good one!
