Rednecks, GA Whatevers and TN Hillbillies

My life has been quiet these days
and not much to write about.

Our phone and internet service
is not great here.
The area we live in is kinda rural.
I guess you could say we live between
a small town and the big city
which I love.

I've always been able to walk to town-
which I did very little.
Town is just down the road here but not within walking distance
and the big city is a few miles up the highway.
We laugh.
Hillbilly rednecks on one side.
We are GA whatevers in the middle.
The uppercrust live on the other side.

An insurance agent came to see us a few days ago.
He said, "I knew you were from GA when I spoke with you on the phone.."
What's that supposed to mean???
He then spoke with a most Southern Drawl.
Then he mocked the TN hillbillies.
Yelp, there's a difference.

We've had a virus this week.
I started with laryngitis which must
have been viral because I wound up
with a really bad bug for two days.

Today I just had to get out for some Vitamin D
and retail therapy.

I found this little shop that I had "liked"
previously on FB.

The pink door and pink bench caught my eye right away.
I almost did a U-turn in the middle of the road.

The people here are soooo precious!
They have real Southern hospitality.
On down the road, closer to Nasvhille, not so much!
Although they pride themselve on good ole country.

My Nerium peeps are coming to see me.
I guess we'll hit Country Music City Row.

Until then,
I'll choose Lebanon, TN over Nasvhille any day of the week!

Bonnie:)

I'll show you my finds later.

  1. Gurl...........I still say you ought to come here to NY and we will open a shop and call it Vintage Girl (wink). I am so glad your liking where you are living....and yes, friend, there is a difference in how one speaks. Just ask Sparky, she will tell you I have a Midwestern twang mixed in with southern. ANYWAYS--BEAUTIFUL POST. I do miss you. Blessings

  2. I would like to like in a smaller city. Preferably close to a grocery store, a library and a pharmacy. But have to have decent internet!

  3. I have not been able to read or comment on much of anything since this year has been crazy busy with the grandson. However, I have caught that you have moved closer to your precious family. Our heart is with our offspring, too. Bill and I and our girls had four major moves during our lives together. It is always exciting to discover new things but it also has the flip side of carrying the same feelings as a death - - - because we do grieve the familiar and the precious friends from our former residence. I am soooo soooo happy for you and your family though to be together. They are the most important people in our lives - - - - after our Precious Jesus.

  4. Glad you found a fun shop! Just what you needed. :)
I think it's always better to be out of the city - people are nicer!

  5. What a darling little shop. I could see why you would enjoy it for sure. I love to head to the nursery. I cannot resist flowers whatsoever.

  6. Bonnie, of course, you found a pink place to find treasures. I think being "in betweeners" will suit you.

  7. I hope you are feeling better! It is hard to get used to a new place but it won't take you long and it will feel like home:) Have a blessed day, can't wait to see your purchases from that cute little shop! HUGS!

  8. I must have been in a coma for several months. Didn't know you're in Tennessee now. Well, that's super duper, 'cause I knew you wanted to be there. It's wonderful that the grands will be close to y'all now. They're so lucky to have Grandparents like y'all. Hope the move went (or is going) smoothly. I used to get laryngitis all the time when living in Jacksonville, Florida. It would always go into an infection which meant antibiotics. (yuck) Now I gargle with lightly salted water before going to bed and that seems to help. Hope you're feeling better now and the Retail Therapy can continue. God bless to you and yours from your former Peach State neighbors! Luv ~:)
