White Pumpkins

This morning was a wonderful 57 degrees
in Nashville, TN.

It feels like Fall.

So, guess what I did?

I pulled out the white pumpkins pumpkins.

It felt good to get out the ironstone and white-tones again.

It feels like I'm finally home.

I bought this one from Timewashed last year
at the end of the season.
This is the first time I've displayed it.

I brought this one home when I closed my booth.
I decoupaged a plastic pumpkin with song sheet
and wrapped the burlap ribbon around it.

Before the move, I sold some of my ironstone.
BooHoo!
What was I thinking!

Just another reason to go pickin'.

That's how we say it in the South.

Update on Hutch!

The surgery was to remove the cancer.
When they got in there, the bladder was attached to the colon.
The cancer is contained within the colon.
The doctors decided to wait on surgery.
He will have 6-8 weeks of radiation and then chemo.
The doctors feel like the prognosis is good
with the above choice of treatment.

Anyone who's been through this knows
that the journey will not be easy.
The family's faith sustains them and they are ready to fight.

Please let the prayers continue.

Happy Fall, Ya'll,

Bonnie

  2. Good for you bringing out those white pumpkins--I love the one with the sheet music and burlap.

I'm sending prayers. It's ironic that my husband went through the same exact thing---radiation to shrink the tumor in the colon and then, chemo in a port at home and then removal of the tumor which has not ever spread. Three years cancer free. You guys will be fine. It's a long road and family and prayers are everything.

    Love to you,

  3. Prayers for your Hutch!
I LOVE your white pumpkins! I have ONE white room ( our bedroom) and my entire house is all decorated for FALL.
I want to do something in the ONE white room that will bring fall in there as well. I have ONE white wicker pumpkin and ONE decoupaged newsprint pumpkin.
I really like the sheet music one you have and will take that as my inspiration! Have you seen the cotton wreathes? I so want one! It would be worth a trip somewhere to pick cotton and make one!!

  4. {{Keeping Hutch in prayer.}}

I love the fall look, Bonnie. The last two days the highs have only been in the 60's--nice and crisp, especially on campus where the mountains surround everything. I think I will pull out some fall things as well...Blessings

  7. I know...it has been GLORIOUS here the past couple of days...Adam was telling me just yesterday that y'all's weather has been about like ours. It is SO unusual but I guess we both know, we would be fooling ourselves to think the hot weather was all over, right? But we can certainly enjoy it while it's here! Glad to hear positive news about Hutch...will keep him in prayer.

  9. 57 degrees? I'm pea-green with envy. *grin* Our mornings have been in the low 70's. It's still feeling Fall-ish though. The humming birds have been leaving. The only ones here now are the stragglers. I do dislike seeing them go but Fall is my favorite time of year.
Hope your day was blessed. ~:)

  12. Oh Bonnie, I am not ready for Fall! I like that idea with the plastic pumpkins! I had my colon removed so never had to experience the chemo and radiation. I had precancerous cells in it though. After seeing my brother and also my bff go through chemo and radiation, I pray the best for Hutch.
