Please Turn the Heat Off!

It's still steamy here!
Ughhh!

The beach doesn't even attract me.
I'm so over this heat.

I tell you what!
Today, I was a substitute for the 8th grade classes.
The baddest bunch I have EVER taught, and I can't say,
"A mean little girl without a daddy."
They were just B-A-D, BAD!

Yes, sirree!
Talk about being run over!
I'll admit it!
My bad, tough self!
They slap ran all over me and jumped
and hooped and hollered and high-fived about it too.

I have NEVER, did you hear me????
NEEEEEEEEVER been so humiliated and shown
such disrespect.

And get this,
some kid turned the heat on.
Oh yeah, the heat was on,
and I'm talking 80 degrees.
Seriously???

So I'm dreaming of Fall.
I'll show you some of my favorite pins.

Last year I used whites.
This year I may add color.
The verdict is still out.

These I can do.

Does anyone remember apple-bobbing?

I think this would look great
as a centerpiece for a farm table.
Don't you agree?

Oh how I wish I had a fireplace.
Do you think "cozy" when you look at this?

This is cute and easy, but think about this with candy corn.

I can just smell the yummy.

Easy peasy!

A box or drawer,
fall berries and pumpkins
and candles from the Dollar Tree
and less than $10.

I can do something like this with my white jars!
Yes, I can!

No, I didn't scream,
"Please turn the heat off!"
I'm not ready for 50 degrees either
and they would show me two opposite extremes,
I'm sure.

I told the teacher next door,
"These kids are out of control."

She said, "Yes.  Now you know why we can't keep a substitute."

Yeah!!!!

Somebody's got to love them.
But I think I'd rather love on
the little ones.

Can we turn the heat off?

A Day in the Life of a Substitute

A Day in the Life of a Substitute.
I think I'll write a book.

I love the stories teacher's tell.
They make me smile, make me laugh.

It's so refreshing to see life
through the eyes of a child.

My first day, I was able to work one on one
with a creative little boy who just needed
some extra attention.
He has a creative mind and his writing
is exceptional.
His story about his trip to Mars made me want to visit.

I am enjoying the 1:1 with students.

On the second day, I had the opportunity to work
with a little boy who finds it difficult to stay on task.
With simple instructions and attention,
he was able to complete the assignment.

In the mornings, I have been with the PE class.
Laugh OUT LOUD!
Me, PE???
Anything physical is certainly an education for me!
Every bone and muscle in my body has been one big ache!

Mr. H thinks this is hysterical!
YOU???? PE???
I have him to know, I played backyard baseball
when I was growing up.

Today's story...

 "What's your name?"

"Mrs. Hitchcock."

"You're mean, Mrs. Hitchcock."
(She's a busy, little thing and cute as a button.  Just can't be still.
"Sweet girl, get in line.  Sweet girl, don't touch your neighbor.  Sweet girl, play nice.")

"Really?  I think I'm pretty nice."

 "Write your name down."
(I did.)

"Why do you want it?"

" I'm gonna tell my mama."

"Yes, Sarah, please tell your mom I said hey.
I haven't seen her in awhile."

"You know my mama?"
(It's a small town.)
"How do you know my mama?"

"I worked with your mama."

"You're a nice lady."

END of discussion.

Some photos that I got today...

How about that train track?
Our big boy will start 3 year old school soon.
Is he not the cutest thing?
Who needs a real track when you've got tape?

Our little angel is singing a tune.
I wish I could have figured out how to download the sound.

Our little miracle baby girl is now the size of an avocado.
In the next two weeks, she will experience a real growth spurt
(and so will mommy).
Very soon, my baby girl will be able to feel a little flutter.

My heart is full to overflowing.

I'm A Substitute Teacher

Tomorrow I officially begin my assignment
as a substitute teacher in the
Washington County, Georgia Public School system.

For two weeks, I will be assisting in the Drama/Dance class,
(well, everyone knows that with me there's always drama)

and the Music class.
(which I love, love, love)

One year my daughter was
awarded "Best Actress in State One Act."
That makes me a professional, right?
WRONG!

I will be working with The PE class too, HA!

For two weeks, I will be there to ASSIST the teacher,
NOT BE the teacher.
So, I agree,
when all else fails, let the teacher handle it.

My dream was to be a teacher,
but I never quite made it to the classroom.

The doors continued to close for me.

I was truly surprised when I got the letter
a couple of weeks ago saying that I had been approved.
I took the class and really didn't expect to be called.

I am elated to be working WITH THE TEACHER
in the same classroom for 2 weeks.
This will allow me the opportunity to learn
the schedule and procedures of a school day.

Please pray for me as I take this step.

Excited and Anxious!

Bonnie:)
