In my pickin's, I pick what I like.
Of course, I'm excited when
what I like is the real thing.
I recently found a cobalt blue
cup and saucer.
I bought it
1. Because I liked it.
2. Because it was 1/2 price.
3. Because it would go with so much of the blue that I already had.
It resembles the Hazel Atlas Cobalt blue,
but it's darker in color and not exactly the same pattern.
It's probably a newer piece.
It may be what collectors call a knock-off.
Doesn't really matter to me.
I don't mind a look-alike,
or for lack of a better word,
a fake??
However, with people I want real.
I want to know you.
I want to know you, what do they say,
"warts and all."
I want to know who you really are
behind closed doors.
I can take it.
I can love the real you.
I don't want a pretend version of the you who you are.
Please show me who you really are.
I can love that person.
Because I don't know how to be
anyone except me.
This week I read,
"When we spend our lives waiting until we're perfect
or bulletproof before we walk into the arena, we
ultimately sacrifice relationships..."
Lets' walk into the arena and just BE-
not perfect, just who we are
and see what can happen
when we are dare to be REAL.
Careful, don't count anyone out!
Who knows, what appears to be a cheap imitation
may be the REAL THING.
Thinking on These Things,
Bonnie:)
Thinking on these things right along with you, dear Bonnie. Thank you for this post and may I just say that your tea cup and saucer is beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Hi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a refreshing post. Thank you for sharing your heart.
Wishing you a wonderful day.
Hugs.

Bonnie, You are doing what we are suppose to do...buy it because you like it and will use it. Blessings for a great day, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWell..Bonnie..I can tell you..I am mother of a teenager (that speaks volumes, read between the lines, lol), a wife, a sahm..so many different faces/hats. HOWEVER, one thing I am not is a cheap imitator (giggles). I have real issues and problems..sometimes broken hearted & broken.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie..sure needed to see this today. Blessings
Blue is my favorite colors. I think you got some wonderful buys! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYep- I will take THE REAL over THE FAKE anyday. Anyone that has a life that is seems picture perfect is probably living a lie- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDishes and linens, fake is OK if I like it...but you are so right...people need to be REAL.
ReplyDeleteI think your perspective is really good and shows real authenticity is.
You new find is lovely.
Absolutely my friend, people being genuine is what we expect and when we we don't get that it turns us away doesn't it? I know Indigo Blue is in in fashion these days.
ReplyDeleteWow - what a great lesson you got from some dishes! I really like them - doesn't matter to me if they are real either. Thanks for sharing the real you!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great quote..
ReplyDelete"When we spend our lives waiting until we're perfect or bulletproof before we walk into the arena, we ultimately sacrifice relationships..."
The older I get the more I have come to accept my warts....It is just a shame that it took so long.. One of the things that I want to be sure to do is to "speak Life" into women. We tend to be so hard on each other.. ONe of the ways is to let other women know... we are not perfect.we all have our faults.. Love your blue cup and saucer and how it led you to a wonderful analogy and life lesson for life.. Thanks Bonnie.. always inspirational.. Blessings!
Being accepting of people or things that may not be what they seem is a hard thing to do. But if you persist, you may just find a jewel.
ReplyDeleteI buy blue because it makes me happy!
Love the blue! I like real people too, no fakes:) Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI like the blue! When it comes to things, I really don't know a real from a fake. In fact when my job was cleaning homes, I found a ring (that I wasn't sure was real) and placed it on the kitchen counter-top for the owner. The next week I found out it was a very expensive rose diamond engagement ring....who knew, not me!!
ReplyDeleteI do like people to be real!
Bless you today, Bonnie!
The blues are beautiful!! Thanks for stopping by my place!!
ReplyDeleteSherry
Love your blue cups and honestly, who cares if it's authentic or not...if you love it and it makes you happy then it's real enough:)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my blog and for your lovely comment!
Dear Bonnie, I read your last few posts. I also love the real in people. I felt tears burning in the back of my eyes as I read on! It has been some very emotional days around here also. I was drawn to that lovely pitcher also. Who will love the broken hearted?
ReplyDeleteHappy and Blessed Easter Season for He has risen!
Yours...Roxy
