A Story Still Being Written

Recognition was to be given to
a graduate who had excelled in her chosen field,
a contribution to society.

A well-respected peer was suggested.
A committee member said,
"Oh, she's not working in her calling."

TRUE STORY!

A man of wisdom said,
"I think her story is still being written."

Yes, God is still writing our stories.

Priscilla Shirer writes,
When God speaks over your life, separating you into Himself for His purposes or allowing circumstances to derail you from your original plan, consider it an invitation.  You've been given the opportunity to write a story beyond your expectation.

...

My girls and I,
My Christy, me, Christina's mom and Christina.
We parked in front of a strip joint for $5.
Yes, we did!  It was closed! Thank God!

Five or six blocks later, we arrived!
The arena was beautiful against the Nashville night sky.

I don't do photos very well.
I look more scared than excited.
But I was more than excited!
My heart was pounding.

Chris Tomlin is by far the greatest
worship leader and writer of praise than any.
Most of his songs, come from THE songs of the Psalms.

We had great seats in section one,
but I loved watching the big screen.
I could see and feel the heart of his emotions.

The lights were amazing,
the band was unbelievable,
the special effects were incredible,
but more, much more than all that,
God was present.

Chris Tomlin is for real.
It wasn't about the lights.
It wasn't about the man in his glory.
It was about GOD in all HIS glory.

It wasn't just a concert.

It was truly a night of worship.
Chris spent much of his time
listening to the crowd sing
while he lifted his hands in worship.

As he spoke about his struggles and worries,
it was obvious that God was still writing His story.

I get discouraged when I think about
what my story should look like.
It looks alot different from what I imagined
on the day in 1987 when God called me.

Today, I choose to let God write my story.
His story, rather than the one I perceived it to be,
is still being written.

  2. Those concerts are very lovely. We give the Lord the Glory for sure Amen but the Lord can uses the singers.

My one Grandson plays the guitar and sister sings praises. Now he sings. The youth group in my daughters Church attends.

The Lord is using the youth group mighty.

  3. How wonderful you got to go to that concert, Bonnie. Music moves me like nothing else can. Don't be discouraged, I don't think any of have a life story that looks anything like we expected it to be. Our lives are not our own and we often bend to the will of others and that, too, is part of our journey. Hang in there! xo Diana

  11. Such a lovely evening for all of you! You look great in photos ~ not scared. I feel that my story is wayyyy different than I ever thought it would be, however, God has the Master Plan and all of our stories. Just wish I had known a few things earlier in my life but guess it wasn't the plan. I try to remember to tell God each morning that I'm available!
