Feeling at Home in the Country

What have I been missing?

I can't begin to tell you how at home I feel
in a totally new place.

I had to get a new Social Security card.
(Oh yeah, I have a job! That's another post.)
The trip was to another TN town, Gallatin.

I passed a Yard Sale!
Yippee!!

I did a U Turn and headed back
with no money in the pocket.

I saw quite a bit of rusty, crusty.

Does anybody else, find a rusty paint bucket appealing?
I just can't help myself.

I wanted to take this home,
but I opted for a box full of junk instead.

This adorable little rocker is cute, but
the slats had been made with pallets.
Pallets are hard to sand smooth enough for my babies.

There was lots of old farm equipment.

The gentlemen there was precious.
He told me all about what each piece was used for.
He reminded me of my granddaddy.

He had chairs from every era and
tables from every era.

I liked the mid-century school desk
but really have no place for it.

There was so very much to see.
Probably the best yard sale I have ever been to.
It was priced to sell too.

Tennessee is filled with so much farmland.
It's country-side is beautiful!
This was just a shot from my window.
So much more beautiful sites that I didn't get a shot of.

Of course, these precious ones are my reason for being.

My baby girl had tubes this week.
She is fine, but not fine enough for photos.

It's a Wonderful Life,

Bonnie:)

Update on Hutch:
Please continue to pray.
He has a long road ahead of him.
He is obviously upset from the news
that the process is going to be longer than expected.
We are praying for an easy journey with
no complications and no side-effects.
For a young man, this is devastating.

  8. Sounds like you had a good time browsing at the yard sale. You didn't buy anything? I will pray for Hutch. When I was 19, 20, and 21, I spent much of my time in the hospital (almost 3 full summers). It is amazing what a blessing a physical challenge can be! It gives you more empathy for others, you learn to communicate and get along with ally ages and types of people, and makes you fully rely on God! I will pray that Hutch will find the blessings in all of this. Sometimes it takes years!
