One Heart

Today I went to Hobby Lobby,
every husband's nightmare.

I picked up more than I needed, as always.
When I started to check out, I had to get her to hold a few.
Anybody else had to do this???

Moving some things around again,
I added the tray that I got from Hobby Lobby.

I painted the jar at Christmas and painted the center a few days ago.
I added a sprig of Spring and a single heart.
We're expecting a cold front tonight.
Lows tomorrow of 20.
I can't imagine one digit temps.

A single heart will have to do.

The little ones have my heart.

This was a random shot that the photographer shot
at the end of Harper's newborn session.
She caught me getting some good loving.
No make-up, hair not boofed, wrinkles show,
but so does my love.
She sent this to me so I'm assuming it's okay to share.
I won't share on facebook.

I stand in awe that God could love her more.
She is such an angel, our little miracle.
One heart is always big enough to hold another.

Can't believe we're only a few days away from Valentine's Day.
Did I mention that I'm going to Nashville???

Lots of Hugs and Kisses to my blogging buddies!

I Will Not Make a Mad Dash to the Mall

I really don't like the crazies of the holidays.

A mad dash to the mall + road rage + push and shove +
grab and poke + long lines + exasperated customers and disgruntled employees
=
one crazy, unstable, extreme woman

This year I'm not going to do it.

I'm buying on-line.
I'm shopping local during the middle of the day
when the crowd is away.

I want to get all of my decorating
done before Thanksgiving.

I know!  Don't shoot me down!
My daughter and her husband are coming
and they won't be home for Christmas.

Today I went to Hobby Lobby.

This is my start.

The first thing I got out was my mama's candy dish.
She kept kisses or peppermint candy all year round.
This year I have both, candy cane kisses.

I found one of my Santa mugs pushed to the back of a cluttered shelf.
I got the brush tree today at Hobby Lobby.
Yes, I copied Pinterest!

I have wanted trees like this for years.
Today was my day-all Christmas 1/2 at Hobby Lobby.

To Do:
1.  Spray paint the lantern red.
2.  Add more candies
3.  Add some red candle holders
4.  Add white candles and tie a red ribbon around them.
5.  Add some boxes or books for height.

I will not rush, I will not dash, I will not push, I will not shove, I will not have a break down.

To Be Continued...

Two Sisters, Two Weddings

Two Sisters, Two Weddings

These are two of the sweetest, smartest
hard-working girls I have ever known.

Both grew up at their grandmother's side
in the kitchen, cooking
in the home of others, giving
in the church, hosting
in the fellowship hall, serving.

Both girls possess a work ethic
unlike many of their peers.

They both attended college
and work in a serving field.
Kaitlin is a nurse in a long term care facility.
Krystal is a pharmacy technician.

Both girls assist their grandmother,
the bereavement chair person,
with serving lunch for the bereaved family.

Krystal is the chair person
for the bridal and baby shower committee.

Both are caring and giving.

When they were little girls
they looked like twins.

Living in middle rural Georgia,
we're from the country and we like it that way!

This is my favorite shot of
Krystal and Bradley's engagement pictures

They wanted an outdoor wedding.
Seating for the guests was bales of hay.

The wedding was full of Southern charm.

The jars filled with hydrangeas was my favorite element.

Lace and burlap, two of my favorites too.

The barn was perfect for a backdrop.

Krystal, Bradly and Jackson
will make their home in Tennille, GA.

The theme continued with the cake.

They had a church wedding
with an outdoor reception.

and they left the church riding a tractor.

It was good to see the wedding party having
a good time.

This was NOT part of the wedding festivities,
although, maybe it should have been:)

This two were high school sweethearts
and have stood the test of time.

Kaitlin and Craig make their home
in Washington County, GA.

I love watching our church kids
grow up and start a life together.

This makes me smile.

An Eye for White

It's got to be!
Cars everywhere on the side of the road.

A cow's gotten out
(hey, it can happen!)
or there's a flea market!

I look with longing eyes,
pleeeeeeeease:), Mr. H
(I'm batting my eyes)

YES! and I make a mad dash!

This time I only have eyes for white.
That's when I see it!
PERFECTION!
Hobnail Milkglass Powder Box

$5!!!!

Do you know what perfect pieces like this sell for
even in my flea market???
$25!

I paid $3 for the Avon perfume jar.

I still can't get over that I paid only $2 more for the milkglass!

My favorite piece now!

Shabby chic is classic.
Add roses and lace and it's romantic.
Add white and it's a perfect vignette.

Sometimes it's all in the eye!

What Will Fall Look Like

I'm not quite sure what Fall
will look like for me this year.

I'm never quite sure until I begin.

I painted more jars and got the look I desired.

I started with lots of foo-foo.

However, less is more for me,

so this

became this.

It still feels like summer here.
When the air becomes cooler and feels like Fall,
I'll add some color, I'm sure maybe.

Bonnie:)

To share some news...

We have a name!

Harper Elizabeth Grant

Isn't that beautiful.
My heart overfloweth.

Bedroom: Step One

On my summer To-Do List
is to re-do one of the bedrooms,
to make it white and bright.

I'm still working on the gray and red.
Still to find a lamp and a rug.

Today I painted the chest-of-drawers.
The walls look blue but they
are actually a very light gray, almost white.

I tried an electric sprayer and I didn't like it at all.
I had to sand some spots and repaint with a brush.
All in all, I like the way it turned out.

I got this vintage bedspread on Ebay.
It is very lightweight which I like
and so does Mr. H.

This is the fringe around the bottom.
It needs a good starching and ironing.
Does anyone hate to iron as much as I?

I'm looking for mirrors to put over the chest.
This is a Pinterest-find.

Yard Sales tomorrow!

Ya"ll Come Back Now

The sweet little home
in the country
hosted a cook out for the
college and career youth.

We drank Southern sweet tea and pink lemonade
out of jars and

ate wild plums with our hands.

Everything had a vintage feel to it.

Of course, I was right at home.

Hydrangeas in blue Ball jars is always a go!

Gotta have lots of red and a little white and blue.
Wire baskets are pretty practicals.

The guys cooked and talked hunting and fishing,

or texted and talked.

See the yellow chair that goes with the glider?
I want, I want, I want.
I think I envy, envy, envy.

Some of the girls talked softball,

and everyone got a shot at cornhole.

"Now, where do you say the bag was supposed to go???"

We played wiffle ball???
Yes, I got a few hits, but I can't do the run-thing anymore.
(It's a woman-after-fifty thang)
I pitched.  I am sore tooooooooooooday!

No more playing, when it came time to eat.

Some sat in the other rooms and some enjoyed their meal outside.

The menu:

Grilled Chicken
Creole Shrimp (Big Ones!)
Mac and Cheese
Green Beans
Pasta Salad
Fresh Pineapple
Cake and Brownies

YUMMY!

Take your shoes off.
Ya'll Come Back Now,
Ya Here,

Bonnie:)
