Bedroom: Step One

On my summer To-Do List
is to re-do one of the bedrooms,
to make it white and bright.

I'm still working on the gray and red.
Still to find a lamp and a rug.

Today I painted the chest-of-drawers.
The walls look blue but they
are actually a very light gray, almost white.

I tried an electric sprayer and I didn't like it at all.
I had to sand some spots and repaint with a brush.
All in all, I like the way it turned out.

I got this vintage bedspread on Ebay.
It is very lightweight which I like
and so does Mr. H.

This is the fringe around the bottom.
It needs a good starching and ironing.
Does anyone hate to iron as much as I?

I'm looking for mirrors to put over the chest.
This is a Pinterest-find.

Yard Sales tomorrow!

  1. I love the bedspread you found. Yes, I hate ironing. Mainly because I have to set up the ironing board every time. Wish I had a huge laundry room so I could leave it set up. Your dresser turned out nice as well. You can't go wrong with classic white.

  2. I don't like to iron either, but I sure do a lot of it when crafting for my shows. I put machine embroidery on my kitchen towels that I sell and the hooping puts wrinkles in them. Love the vintage bedspread! The chest-of-drawers turned out so pretty.

  3. I love the chest! It'll look great with a mirror over it. The bedspread is perfect.
I hate to iron, Bob says I don't even know how! :)

  4. I love light gray walls and that bedspread is so pretty!

  5. Oh what an inviting bedroom. I think anyone would love to sleep here. Gorgeous and I really like the plate display. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me.

  6. Iron? what is that? lol Your white and bright bedroom is on it's way to looking mighty nice. Love the bedspread. Happy Friday and hope your weekend is a good one.

  7. P. S. I do know it is Sat., dont know why I typed Friday! lol

  8. I would not iron it, love it the way it is. Thanks for the smiles, Bonnie..loveeeeeeeeeeee what and how you decorate. Blessings

  9. I LOVE that bedspread:) The fringe is AWESOME! Enjoy your weekend dear friend, HUGS!

  10. I don't own an iron any longer!!!

Hope you find a nice mirror!

  11. Oh Bonnie, I so hate to iron, but I love the after math of having it all completed.
I have been allowing my linens to relax and wrinkle it's so euro chic to let these piece be as they are, wrinkled and relaxed and a bit tattered with age.
I love the apron for your vanity it looks amazing.

As for your booth, I would do the same thing...things would get low and off to my shop space things from the house would go and later see it featured I'm a favorite magazine and regret the sale. Now I keep the things I love and shop for my space.

See you soon and all the amazing beauty you surround yourself with.

  12. I love it! Question: do all of your mirrors need to be old or just look old? I have a mirror collage in my living room and all the frames were different colors and I painted them and distressed them. I got most at the goodwill store. Just wondering. No matter, it's gonna look awesome!

  13. Oh...I forgot to tell you how much I adore the bedspread!!

  14. The bedspread is lovely, and yes, I hate to iron too, especially fiddly things! xx

  15. Lovely, all of it! Would you believe, I don't mind ironing?? It's true =)

  16. Oh this is going to be a great space! Hope you can find all the little details as you go out and about. :-)
