Bedroom: Step One

On my summer To-Do List
is to re-do one of the bedrooms,
to make it white and bright.

I'm still working on the gray and red.
Still to find a lamp and a rug.

Today I painted the chest-of-drawers.
The walls look blue but they
are actually a very light gray, almost white.

I tried an electric sprayer and I didn't like it at all.
I had to sand some spots and repaint with a brush.
All in all, I like the way it turned out.

I got this vintage bedspread on Ebay.
It is very lightweight which I like
and so does Mr. H.

This is the fringe around the bottom.
It needs a good starching and ironing.
Does anyone hate to iron as much as I?

I'm looking for mirrors to put over the chest.
This is a Pinterest-find.

Yard Sales tomorrow!

  1. I love the bedspread you found. Yes, I hate ironing. Mainly because I have to set up the ironing board every time. Wish I had a huge laundry room so I could leave it set up. Your dresser turned out nice as well. You can't go wrong with classic white.

  2. I don't like to iron either, but I sure do a lot of it when crafting for my shows. I put machine embroidery on my kitchen towels that I sell and the hooping puts wrinkles in them. Love the vintage bedspread! The chest-of-drawers turned out so pretty.

  11. Oh Bonnie, I so hate to iron, but I love the after math of having it all completed.
I have been allowing my linens to relax and wrinkle it's so euro chic to let these piece be as they are, wrinkled and relaxed and a bit tattered with age.
I love the apron for your vanity it looks amazing.

As for your booth, I would do the same thing...things would get low and off to my shop space things from the house would go and later see it featured I'm a favorite magazine and regret the sale. Now I keep the things I love and shop for my space.

See you soon and all the amazing beauty you surround yourself with.

    Xx

  12. I love it! Question: do all of your mirrors need to be old or just look old? I have a mirror collage in my living room and all the frames were different colors and I painted them and distressed them. I got most at the goodwill store. Just wondering. No matter, it's gonna look awesome!
