Sentimental Treasures

My daughter and son-in-law were anxious for me to open
one of my Christmas gifts while I was there.

Can you hear me jumping for joy?

A perfect, pink chenille bedspread.
It was flawless, perfect even on the under side.

The sentiment behind it is even more special.

Troy's mom and her sister slept on it growing up.
When his grandparents downsized, they were going to sell it.
My children know how much I love PINK and vintage at that!
His family agreed that I should have it.

The bed belonged to my husband's parents when they first got married.

Sentimental treasures can never be replaced.

I'm more in love with The Pink Room than ever!

Smiles and Hugs,

Bonnie:)

  1. Oooo, what a lovely bedspread, Bonnie. And having it handed down from generations makes it even more special. It's a pretty color of pink and looks so nice in your room.

I wish you peace and lots of love in the new year, my friend.

  2. Ok, if and when I visit, the Pink Room is mine! (giggles)--I just love the bedspread...my grandmother had white chenille ones on all the beds. I have no idea what happened to them, sad to say. Thanks for the smiles. Blessings

  8. I have always like chenille bedspreads... I have a moss green one. Yours looks so pretty on the iron bed and the sentimental value is the best.

  14. Bonnie there could not be a better gift. The history of it is so precious and personal. I had one so similar on my bed growing up and don't have a clue what ever happened to it. That was in the 40's so who knows.
