A God Who Sees, A God Who Hears, A God Who is Concerned

Day 2:
God:  All-Knowing and All-Powerful

Last year I lived in Psalm 139.  It was fresh and new each time I read it...and it still is.  It's the psalmist's personal love letter to God.  Once again, I want us to pause and reflect on the All-Knowing God.

O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.  You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.  Before a word is on my tongue, you know it completely, Oh Lord.  You hem me in-behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.  Psalm 139:1-6

Can we truly comprehend?

How often do we wonder if God sees, if He knows, if He cares?  Let's be honest.  We all have been there. If you haven't, trust me, you will.

During the past year, I have had times when I wondered that very same thing.  Intellectually I know God to be a caring, compassionate God, but in my spirit, I've wondered if He was really listening, if he really knew. And if He knew, did He really care???

God's people were enslaved by the Egyptians.  BUT GOD SAW!

The Lord said (to Moses), I have indeed SEEN the misery of my people in Egypt.  I have HEARD, them calling out because of their slave drivers, and I am CONCERNED about their suffering.  So I have COME down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and TO BRING THEM OUT of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey..

As I was reading this again, it dawned on me that God said, "I have COME DOWN."  He cares enough to COME DOWN, to meet us at our point of need.

If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

If I settle on the far side of the sea.

Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, surely the darkness will hide me and light become night around me,

Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you."

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!  Were I to count them they would outnumber the grains of sand.

When I awake, I am still with you.

Search me, O God and know my heart,
Test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

I'm glad that God KNOWS ALL AND SEES ALL!
HE WILL COME,

Prayers and Blessings as WE GROW STRONGER together,

Bonnie:)

  4. Pictures and words could not be more perfect.

I try to memorize Scriptures, and a few years ago I did commit Psalm 139 to memory. I review it a lot, because I know I will lose it.

The verse I'm memorizing now is from Don's message Sunday. Psalm 19:14
