In Our Weakness, He is STRONG

Stronger:  Finding Hope in Fragile Places
by Angela Thomas

Welcome to Stronger.

God has put together 35 of the most courageous women I have ever known--woman who have experienced great weakness, deep needs, past mistakes, present sufferings, stumblings, sickness, pain, death, doubts, bad attitudes, broken relationships, loneliness, depression, anxiety, worry, sin, unforgiveness, anger, bitterness and rage.

Why do I say courageous?

Because when we are willing to expose the deep and hidden hurts and secrets of our hearts to other women we become women of courage and in our weakness, God makes us stronger.

We are a beautiful variety of women at different places and ages and with different needs and struggles. We are all women who need to know that God is Stronger.

I was a bit overwhelmed when I saw how many women had signed up to participate in STRONGER.  What this tells me is

1.  We all have a need for community-to engage and connect with other women.
2.  We all are broken and hurting, weary and worn, even weak with a real need to know that God is Stronger.

On Day 1 we will begin with the source of all strength, God Almighty.  It is IN HIM that we are made strong.

When I consider the character of God and WHO I KNOW Him to be, I can't just put it in a word.  He is the God of all grace and glory.  He is a personal God, well acquainted with all that concerns me.  He is my Refuge and my Strength, the ONE that I run to.  He is my Sustainer, my HOPE, my HEALER, my PEACE, and my REDEEMER. If I could sum it all up, I would have to say that HE is I AM because nothing can get any bigger or stronger than I AM!  I AM IS-He always has been, He always will be!

I told my girls tonight that for the next 6 weeks these will be my best friends-the workbook and God's book.

This week we will talk about the Omni-ness of God.  The BIGness of God's Strength.  It's a concept that I can't wrap my brain around.  He is bigger than even the idea that I have of BIG.

Omni is a Latin word that means "all," "in all ways," "in all things," "every," or everywhere."  When omni is added to a word it expands it's meaning. So if we say, God is Omnipresent, we understand this to mean, God is always present, in all ways present, in all things present, in every way present and everywhere present.  Doesn't that concept just blow you away???

Let's consider for a moment, the Omnipresence of God by looking at my all-time favorite passage,
Psalms 139.

"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?  If I go up to the heavens, you are there.  If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.  If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your right hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.  If I say, 'Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night become light around me,' even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will sine like the day, for darkness is as light to you." (v. 7-12)

A.W. Tozer said, "God is everywhere here, close to everything, next to everyone."

No matter how I feel or even if I can't feel a thing, God is near.

Your lesson for today is to consider the strength of God for yourself.
Read:
Psalm 46:1
Psalm 145:18
Matthew 28:20

Write somewhere, on a mirror, the frig, the dash of your car..

A LITTLE STRONGER--God is always with me.
His strength is ever-present, in every place, for every
circumstance I face.

Aren't you glad?

Grab a cup of coffee and follow along with me
on this journey to be made STRONGER.

In My Weakness, He is STRONG,
Bonnie:)
