Great Ideas for Old Windows and Other Junk

Too much summer sun and fun and I could hardly move last night.  It was VBS commencement at church this morning and I promised my niece I'd be there.  The muscle relaxers had another plan.

On my visit to Old Town Bluffton, I saw some of the great ideas from Pinterest that we all love so much.

Old Glory looks good no matter how you do it!

My daughter's sister-in-law made a letter like this. She put in their bedroom on a painted window frame that she already had.  Sweet.

Window hanging for an open porch.

My camera failed.  The house that held the Children's Shop had a clothes line strung across the front with children's summer wear held by clothes pins.  Darling.

The birch clothes rack was another great idea.  The store owner said she looked at some prices on line and they were monsterous.  She purchased these from Michaels for a great price.

The great thing about browsing is all the neat idea that you can implement later.  I've been looking for something to hang from the old railroad spikes above the long, old windows in my shop.
I love the birdcage on the end of the birch branch.

My daughter said these were broken mirrors.  I didn't really get a good look.  I thought they were small silver trays attached to a knife.  Either way, isn't it lovely?  The mirrors/trays are painted with chalkboard paint and stuck in a small jar/glass of sand and shells.

Hope you enjoyed another visit to Bluffton, SC.

More to follow...

  1. The table markers look like little silver trays to me too, but either way they are darling. Love the birch rod as well. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I went to a sale and some guy wanted thirty dollars for a frame he painted out in chalk paint. I can do that myself for way less and I have tons of frames and silver trays. I like those windows in your fist image-creating an outdoor room is a good idea.
