Some Things I Like, Some I Don't

I'm not a big fan
of this not-so-creative
faux mantle.

However, there are are parts of it
that I do like,

some of my favorite love stories,

an early photo of my parents,

a coffee mug
and a photo of a man and woman,
my husband's parents.

Don't you just love the old black and whites?

 a sentimental symbol of
the love of sisters,

and the words on my canvas.

I sing to my Connor
(as I will all my future grandchildren)

I love you,
a bushel and a peck,
a bushel and a peck
and a hug around the neck,
a hug around the neck,
and a hug around the neck.

I DO LOVE Daddy's old level
that I used to prop up the canvas.

But this, I don't like.

It's already down,

replaced with the old.

Looking for something RED
to speak
"Happy Valentine's Day,"

Bonnie:)

  1. Your painted heart looks great on your mantel vignette and there is nothing like the black and white photos of our parents, that say 'love' so perfectly. xo

  3. I love all those old things - especially things that have come from a family member. I also like old black and white pictures. We have a wall of old family pictures done in sepia.
"I love you a bushel and a peck" - great old song!

  5. I cherish the old black and white photos we have, too.
It is time to be thinking about Valentine's Day décor.
    Your vignette is very sweet!

  6. How fun that you have an area you change out. You are smart to put the things on display that mean something special to you rather than keeping them "safe" in a box in the closet. They are meant to be cherished.
